About Group Workouts with Zwift for FNWTS: How do I join?
Please check posts on the public FB page https://www.facebook.com/groups/FNWTS/
(For 6/12/2020 @ 7pm) This 40 minute session will be a focused warm up - no match buringing, just a good long warmup for a short fast race. It has some repeated segments going above FTP, then dropping back below it, then going above it again. This group workout is set up just like a normal meetup and once the event starts, the workout begins. Everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're outputting 400 watts and another Zwifter is outputting 100 watts, you will stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. Only if you stop pedaling and fall 6 meters behind the group will the rubber-banding stop.
About this FNWTS group workout: Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event. Then riders will load their custom workout by selecting "training" from the menu. You will need to import your workout before you log onto Zwift, using the computer you are going to be using for the meetup.
Selecting your workout for FNWTS meetup Zwift: (For 6/12/2020 @ 7pm)
Log on to Zwift with plenty of time for any software updates (at least 15 minutes ahead.)
Load the program and pair devices and choose Watopia and pedal around until you get notified to 'Join Meetup'.
Join the meetup and while in waiting area click on MENU
Click on the menu button and then click on the MENU button and then select 'WORKOUTS"
*Note - if you are already in a training program you will need to click BACK from the Training Menu then the upper tab will show WORKOUTS.
and click workouts tab and find "Less than and Hour to Burn". Select the PRE TRAINING PLAN WORKOUT (35 minutes) You will be in the group start area with a little 'shield' in front of you and once the meetup starts everyone will have the same information in front of them. The 'Workout' will load the information you need to follow during the ride.
Another way to do this (that is, getting the workout loaded in front of you) Once you (and everyone else in the meetup are ready) you can hit the letter M on the keyboard which will open the workout library. You select the workout you want and you (and the others who perform this operation) can do it while on the meetup. It is important to note that everyone have the workout uploaded on Zwift after joining the meetup corrale.
Other things you can do to enjoy our Virtual FNR- see links top right on page.
Join the Facebook group for weekly race/workout/virtual ride info.
Jump on Discord for real-time chatter, listen and talk while you ride/race.
Relive recorded VFNR events on the streaming channel.
You must be following Scott Gilbert SD Velodrome 217441, or Pat Murray San Diego to get the meetup invite each week, OR you can use the 'Find Zwifter' feature and join in by choosing to Ride with another Zwifter - you will need to know which map to choose to find your partner.
We highly recommend doing one of the FTP tests as the estimated FTP can be inaccurate and make the difficulty level of the workouts too high for your fitness level. For more information on FTP go to: https://zwift.com/news/4100-zwift-how-to-understanding-finding-your-ftp/
