About the Track

Located in the heart of Balboa Park’s Morley Field Athletic Complex, the San Diego Velodrome is the resource for bicycle track racing in the greater San Diego area. One of three velodromes in the Southwestern United States, the San Diego Velodrome is a premiere training and racing destination. Our development programs are tailored for riders of all ages, skills, and abilities. The San Diego Velodrome offers one of the longest race schedules in the US, and the San Diego Velodrome Association fosters grass-roots racers through National and Olympic-level riders.

Constructed in 1976, the San Diego Velodrome flourishes through the management of the San Diego Velodrome Association. With 28 degree banked corners, this 333.3 meter oval track is a recreational and racing resource unlike anything else in Southern California.

Only certified riders may ride at the San Diego Velodrome. An SDVA liability release must be completed prior to riding. Only fixed-gear track bicycles may be ridden on the velodrome. Bicycle helmets are required to be worn when riding.
