Hour of Power (HOP)

NOTICE: MUST BE A CURRENT SDVA MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE

Join our organized open SDVA members-only workout, the world-famous Hour of Power at the San Diego Velodrome. Ride a steady rotating pace line on the blue line for an hour. Riders may drop down into the pole lane to lap the pace line or join a faster group.

Hour of Power is a member-organized, member-lead workout. SDVA does not have any coaches or staff present. Members are responsible for maintaining a safe environment.

Requirements
  • Ages 8+ (Riders under 16 need to have a parent present)

  • Riders must have their own bikes

  • Bicycle helmet

  • SDVA Membership required

Schedule
October through March
Mondays - 20mph
Fridays - 23mph
7:00 PM (roll off the boards) - 8:00 PM

  • Helmet

  • Cycling appropriate clothing

  • Gloves

  • Water

  • Fixed-gear track bicycle (not provided)

  • Jacket/leg warmers/layers (It can get cold)
