Where Junior Cyclists Chase Speed on the Track!

Get ready for an exciting year at the San Diego Velodrome, tailored just for your little ones!

Designed for children aged 8 to 18, our youth programs will be in full swing most Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 pm to 6 pm.  Our mission is to spark a lifelong love for cycling in your kids, ensuring that their passion for biking continues well beyond their younger years.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, riders will be grouped based on their abilities. This not only enhances safety but also allows your kids to have a blast with others who share similar skills and interests.

At the San Diego Velodrome, we're currently offering 3 levels of youth classes, catering to a variety of skill levels. So, whether your child is a budding cyclist or already a skilled rider, there's a perfect class for them to join in on the fun and learning. Here's to a season filled with pedal-powered adventures and unforgettable memories for your little riders!

Embark on an exciting  6 session cycling journey with our Junior Cruisers at the San Diego Velodrome! Tailored for budding riders aged 8 to 18, this program is the perfect introduction to the exhilarating world of track cycling. Inspired by a holistic approach to early childhood development, our objective is to create a foundation for your child's growth by introducing them to the world of cycling in a fun and engaging manner.

What to Expect

  1. Safety:  We work together to make sure your child is able to safely ride on a track and create life long lessons around group riding.  Every class starts with basic riding safety and strategies to ride safely.

  2. Skill Building: From basic handling of a fixed gear track bike to mastering the art of entering and exiting the track safely, our introductory sessions focus on developing fundamental cycling skills. Velodrome etiquette, riding pace lines, and structured workouts are all part of the exciting curriculum.

  3. Making Connections: Beyond the bike, our classes encourage kids to make new friends who share a passion for cycling. Building camaraderie and a growth mindset is an essential element of the San Diego Velodrome program experience.
